Will This Graphics Card Run with This Power Supply?

oh yeah, anything over 500 is gonna run any card. Unless you have a lot of harddrives, or more then one card. Make sure you have the right number and type of power connections. You may need to get a "Y" type connector if that card has more then one power connection. Or if you need the wires to stretch farther

I would say the current power (the one you are looking at) supply would be fine, providing it's not a cheapo model. Give it a try. Most current 24 pin psu's come with 204, so that they can be backward compatible with older 20 pin mobo's...it will be perfectly fine

Well, 300 Watts is barely enough. It depends on whether you have a small chassis or a larger one like a mid-tower. Slimline computers like the HP's and Dell's are almost non-upgradeable due to their compact nature and the fact most generic pc components are designed for mid or full tower. If you have a slimline or a microATX case, you will find it hard to get anything bigger than maybe a 400 Watt at the most, IF you are lucky and keep the size of the psu down to where you can put it into the chassis. The reason why, is because the size of the capacitors and the number of capacitors in the psu has to increase in size as the wattage goes upward. At 400 watts, typically, the power supply has to increase in size to render higher wattage outputs, so it goes from being a very small power supply physically, to a mid-range size box. Between 400 - 650 Watts, the box remains pretty much the same size and then past 650 Watts (like the 750 to 1000 watt size) increases again in size. So without telling us what size your chassis is, its a little hard to tell. It used to be that slimline and microATX cases had a small 250 - 300 Watt PSU, but now Dell and HP seem to be building mid-towers with these small power supplies in them. So what I am saying is, you need to understand that there are size constraints on the size of the power supply and your chassis. You will need to figure the dimensions on your chassis and determine if you can install a larger power supply in it. I would think a standard 500 Watt PSU, costing somewhere around $60 - $70 would do you just fine.

Can you show us the circuit? Is there diodes and capacitors between the transformer and the 317? And you take the output from the 317, not the 1k resistor. Get the LM317 datasheet, it has circuits on it.
