What were the political causes of the American Revolution? What were its effects?
*Causes: After Christopher Columbus found the West Indies, A bunch of British/ European People saw the potential in all the land and resources. It was basically open free land. Land that we stole from Native Americans, polluted, and its keeps getting worse. What the cause was, I don't care because honestly I would rather live under a Monarchy or even communism than this so called Democracy we live in. It is a joke. Everything is all about $$$$$ and EGO. I basically wasted (about a month ago) a good hour of my day voting for someone when MY vote, really, means shit. Nothing. Nada. Especially in SC.*Effects: So over 200 years later here we are, basically an over polluted, over taxed, over governed, FAT, stupid (I mean the level of intelligence and over all basic test scores to those per capita. based on what area they live in).Inner Cities are full of crime, not enough help to fight the war on drugs. I know the war on drugs is a major issue in this country. And the amount of people incarcerated, just cost us more money, as a country. Education is so very important. It is the life blood of this country. So why not pay the teachers fair ( like millions). It is insane to me that celebrities get paid more than the educators that actually teach those very celebrities. Not based on where they teach, who they teach, but the level of their teaching skills. The way the studied and continue to learn ways to teach the proper methods based on today's reality.
I did not attend college, and I can not remember how to long divide, or multiply on paper. I am 35. Education should be ongoing based on your age group and the level of re-learning you need as you age. Even my 80 year old mother needs to be re taught today's reality. And frankly my siblings and I do not have time to teach her the new age technology. What would be the harm in teaching her and her peers how to use a smartphone.I can tell you being in sales, at my age is very frustrating. The women and men that are older, and ready to retire have no idea what Instagram is. They should. Social media is taking the place of good ole fashion journalism. Do I like it? Yes. I was born in 1981. My life revolves around the internet and media in general.
In conclusion, we are all immigrants. Except the Native Americans. We left Britain because of taxes. Ha.
*very little research.
How can I get over a guy who led me on, but who clearly had no intention of having a relationship with me?
A2A...you asked: How can I get over a guy who led me on, but who clearly had no intention of having a relationship with me? I met this Kurdish guy through Whisper. He doesn't seem that smart, physically he's not all that, but I guess him being foreign and just the time I invested in him made me think I felt something for him. He confided in me with some things as I did too in him. He's 24 and owns a store, and is studying radiology. I send him messages and only when he wants to he'll reply. One time, he even said he missed me, and that was enough to get carried away with feelings. He clearly doesn't like me back. He's the one who talked to me first and who seemed interested at first. I've always been the independent type of girl, I'm 23, about to get B.A. and a B.S., I work at a law firm, I'm involved with my community, I travel, I'll be moving to another city soon, I've only dated once, and me trying to keep the spark alive has made me realize I'm being pathetic. I shouldn't be chasing after anyone who is not interested in me. It hurts though. I felt I understood him, but he doesn't feel the same way. I just really want to get him off my mind. I have a feeling he's a player too. We met on Whisper, then we started texting, and then he messaged me on Facebook. He sometimes seems interested, but most of the time I find myself being the only one trying to keep the conversation going. It's even to the point that I'm considering to go two states across and visit him even though he hasn't hit me up from the last time I messaged him. I need to get him off my mind. For some crazy reason he seemed like "the one", but then I snap out of that silly fanasty I've made up in my head. I had it in me to love him and care for him more than he could have ever imagine. I find myself logging on Facebook hoping he writes back. He's on it all the time, and still, no response.Unfortunately, this man only loves himself.Consider him a 'fantasy,' and shift your focus to someone who has compassion rather than no conscience.
Please don't berate yourself about this. It's a really painful learning experience for you and I'm sorry about that
Why does the American presidency alternate between Republicans and Democrats?
Heads of government tend to alternate between the two largest parties in almost every democracy in the world (there's a couple of notable exceptions, like Japan, where the same party has held power almost continually since the 1950s, or Finland, where three parties vie for power). Even in systems with a multitude of parties, there are typically two major parties capable of providing the head of government (think of the Netherlands, which has 10 parties in its parliament but which only had Christian Democrat or Labour premiers after WWII up until 2010, when they elected a Liberal). The main reason is that typically major parties or blocs of parties act as a government/opposition dynamic. Typically a government that is seen by the public to have performed well will be re-elected, whereas if it has failed then the opposition will be elected. The political science models which most accurately predict the result of the 2012 Presidential election, for instance, actually measure US economic performance and Obama's approval ratings not measures such as voting intention (which is used by Nate Silver's more famous 538 model).A party that is in power will eventually run into problems. Sooner or later an economic crash always happens. Long terms of power often breed complacency amongst the party. Corruption can sometimes be bred (for instance, the Conservative government of the UK between 1979 and 1997 was hurt by a series of major scandals after 1992, 13 years in power had bred so much complacency that the party's MPs became corrupt). Infighting can also start (when Clinton became President the Democrats had held Congress for a generation. They were complacent and didn't feel they needed to listen or work particularly closely with him, after all he could be gone in 4 years! The Democrats in Congress lost in a landslide defeat in 1994, 2 years later, whereas Clinton stuck around until 2000).In some countries you will occasionally see a breakthrough for a party outside the big 2. I gave the Dutch example above. Usually this happens only if one of the parties falls apart. In the Dutch example, the Christian Democrats became completely discredited after 10 years in government, creating a gap on the right filled by the Dutch Liberals (in the Netherlands, liberalism is a right-wing, free-market, low tax ideology). This is clearly easier in countries which are not two party systems, but the US electoral and political system, its vast size (and thus the funding and organisation needed to run an election campaign) and the flexibility of its political parties, which have historically moved to appropriate the issues of challenger parties and destroy them, make it incredibly difficult for anyone besides a member of the two largest parties to win the Presidency."
