Why aren't vehicle LED replacement front headlights more popular?
It is not as simple as it seems. Headlight reflector (the shiny part behind the globe) and lens design will probably not be optimised for correct (legal) light distribution patterns.Somehow LED headlight bulbs build up a lot of heat, and to dissipate this heat, LED globes usually have bulky heatsinks. It has become rather difficult to replace even regular bulbs on modern cars, due to cramped space. Oh, and then there is also the ballast to accommodate.I would only consider this modification using a kit designed for my specific car, after witnessing a significant improvement on, say, Youtube - and then also only if the modification is not too expensive.Forget cheap ebay, Wish, or Aliexpress temptations.
------How do we use an LED as a transmitter? What is the frequency range of a simple white LED?
Laser diodes are best for high frequency modulation, into the 100s of MHz, but colored LEDs work pretty well too, up into the 10s of MHz. Most white LEDs have yellow phosphors that are stimulated with a violet or blue LED. The combination looks white to the eye. The decay time of the phosphors is quite long. White LEDs barely modulate through the audio frequency range.Use a single color LED and bias it with a DC current. Couple a little bit of modulation current into the LED, being careful not to over-modulate, and the signal quality can be quite good on the receiving end. I suggest a reverse biased photo diode in the receiver, coupled to an OP-AMP gain stage
------Why have modern humans ditched collectivism when collective strength has led to where we are now?
Historical reasons. From Assirians to Great Britain, from Byzanse to Venice, the movement is always the same.At one moment international trade allows an important capital accumulation by a small amount of families. But capital alone has no value. So the pre-existing common structures, supposed to give a certain level of confort and security to the peasants, find themselves destroyed by force and by law with the endorsment of new economical theories.A exemple :
The enclosure acts which destroyed 400 years of commons in the UK followed by Adam Smith's and Hume's benediction. So "collectivism" is not supposed to be at the head of the state but at his bottom, as a fundation.Ellen Rosenman, On Enclosure Acts and the Commons
------What led you to start Ubiquity 6?
After four years of helping some really talented founders at their earliest stages in AR, VR and computer vision, I left Kleiner Perkins to start Ubiquity6 with Ankit because I finally believed that the three most important building blocks for shared XR - the ability to create shared persistent physical spaces, fast lightweight authoring in these spaces for creatives, and accessibility to these spaces at scale (hundreds of millions of users with smartphones) were within reach. I love what we do because in using computer vision to build shared AR, we're building on core tech from the world of 3D graphics and multiplayer games - the reason I got into XR in the first place!
------Do you need a resistor for every LED?
No you don't, if an LED requires 3V of power and you have a source that provides 3V of power then resistor is not necessary. If an LED requires 12V of power and you have a car battery - you can connect it directly and power it that way.I don't understand why many people insist on adding resistors to LED's when the voltage matches the driving voltage, if you do this you usually get dimmer light, nobody wants dimmer light.
Only useful place where a resistor is useful is when your output power is a USB cable and it's giving 5V but the LED is only 3V, then resistor will keep the LED from burning out from overheating
------Why do some people believe God will send you to hell if you don't believe in God, even if you've led a highly ethical, loving life?
I will answer as one of the some people who come from the Christian perspective. Warren Karmer is right, that the Christianity 101 answer is that the two premises in the question do not describe reality. We are not sent to hell for misbehaving but are eternally granted our chosen independence, being where God is not, and no one leads a highly ethical life. Some are relatively more ethical than others, but that is not high at all.The lack of ethics is not why we are bound for hell. It is the the symptom. Again, we will simply get our choice. The Law, the breaking of which tells us we are unethical, was given to reveal our estrangment from God. The issue is not about crime and punishment, but estrangement and reconciliation
------What are some of the factors which led to the rise of human civilizations?
I suppose you mean human civilization. Yes?But human civilizations are the end of the lasta civilizations on Earth. The Pan-Scientist Aristotele about 350 BCE studied the first initial civilization on Earth Bees community:Bees have a language, and talk to each other

------Who are the nicest people (non-assholes) to have led high-impact companies?
Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos (company) and author of Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose. He took revenue from $1.6 million in 2000 to $1 billion in 2009. He sits in a cubicle next to his assistant, takes an annual salary of $36,000 (granted that he made millions from previous ventures), and offers new hires $2,000 to quit (97% say no). While Zappos is renowned for their customer service, it's not their priority:Our number one priority is company culture. Our whole belief is that if you get the culture right, most of the other stuff like delivering great customer service or building a long-term enduring brand will just happen naturally on its own.- Tony Hsieh
------How globalization has led to the reduction of employment in the formal sector of the Indian economy?
A vast majority of formal employment in India , infact, is a direct consequence of globalisation. However , in the recent past ,most of the companies who are operating from other countries are opting to outsource work like security , kiosk etc services to local agencies on contract basis due to their lack of understanding of local environment. And this is where informal employment is created within mnc's. For eg. when transport services are given on contract basis , the localite might simply hire driver , cleaner etc without bothering much about his registration etc.The same goes with other petty jobs too. In the recent past , not only petty jobs but even high level executives are hired on contract basis to legally evade many social security benefits and others obligations of formal employment
------What is the life span of an LED tube light vs. an LED bulb?
Typically, for a same wattage & same usage pattern/ ambient conditions, an LED tubelight will have a higher life than that of an LED bulb.An LED tubelight can be functional for multiples of times when compared to a LED bulb. Our Tubelight products have lasted for years without any appreciable lumen decay.

------Do LCD or LED computer monitors emit electromagnetic radiation?
Do you have an analog AM radio?Get an AM radio and dial it between stations.Walk around your house and pass the radio near all of your electronic devices. Ignore the weird looks you get from people.
.You will find that MOST of your electronics make at least a little noise. This is one reason that I own an analog AM radio.Cheap switching power supplies are the worst! Sometimes they really rumble!Green/Orange fluorescent displays are pretty loud.
Your computer and monitor, dimmers, chargers almost everything does this!Even your digital quartz watch generates a little - a slight buzz. You need to get the antenna real close to the watch to hear this. Analog quartz watches generate little pulses once per second which are almost impossible to pick up.
------What is the size of LED used in an LED TV?
It will vary with the screen size. If we use the standard HDTV spec, the screen will have 1024 pixels across. If the screen is 600 mm wide, then each pixel will be 0.6 mm in size. Each pixel is actually three LEDs - one each of red, green and blue and the LEDs will about 0.
2 mm. If it is a bigger TV, e.
g. 900 mm wide, the pixels will be 0.
9 mm and the LEDs will about 0.
3 mm. This is why if you sit very close to a very large TV you will start to see the pixels, which is why we now have 4K TVs.This is just the simplified version - the actual shape and interleaving of the pixels will affect the actual average size and it probably varies by manufacturer
------What led to the spread of blood bending? Hama was in jail and Katara banned it.
Did it? Apart from Hama and Katara, the only Bloodbenders were Yakone and his sons, three in the span of 70 years. This really isnt a spread, as its possible that other Waterbenders had the same revelation as Hama and just worked extra hard on harnessing this power. Yakone might have had a quirk that made him a particularly potent bender, and he passed it onto his sons, whom he trained rigorously, even abusively, for years.
If there was a spread, how come there arent more Bloodbenders than just Yakone and his sons? Imagine if there was a secret League of Blood that went around manipulating and assassinating people in the dark of the night
------What happened in the last few hundred years that led man to switch his belief from religion to science/logic and evidence?
I recently listened to a podcast on Deep Brain (PBS) about just that. The author being interviewed said that religion was needed around the time that humans began to live in large groups. Within small groups, up to about 50, everyone knows everyone else and rule breakers have no place to hide. Not so in large groups. So the idea was to invent this all-knowing vengeful God who sees everything and punishes wrong-doers. With the evolution of societies, laws and institutions began to take on the role of God in keeping order. The author further predicts the continuing decline of religion. I would also note that religion rises during times of stress and disorder and subsides when the world is calm and orderly.Creating God
------Has increased Muslim immigration into Europe led to a greater degree of antisemitism toward European Jews?
wow. Not one of the answers so far addresses the facts on the ground.Fact: there have been hundreds of incidents of anti-semitic attacks, including the terrorist attack on the French kosher deli, committed by Muslims. From Is it Time for Jews to Leave Europe?:But what makes this new era of anti-Semitic violence in Europe different from previous ones is that traditional Western patterns of anti-Semitic thought have now merged with a potent strain of Muslim Judeophobia. Violence against Jews in Western Europe today, according to those who track it, appears to come mainly from MuslimsMuslim Anti-Semitism Drives Jews from Europe -Jews Under Muslim Attack in EuropeStudy Exposes Depth of Muslim Antisemitism in Europe
